In early 2023, the City of Delano began it's Infrastructure Improvement Project. The portion of the project affecting Maplewood Estates and Woods Creek neighborhoods has been broken into three main areas: a full depth reconstruction, a reclaim and pave, and a mill and overlay areas. The full depth construction areas will receive new water main, new curb, and new pavement. The reclaim and pave areas will have spot watermain repairs, spot curb replacements and new pavement. The reclaiming process itself involves grinding and mixing the existing asphalt and gravel together to produce a new base for paving. The mill and overlay areas will receive spot watermain repairs, spot curb replacements, and a new top layer of pavement. The milling process involves grinding off the top layer of asphalt and replacing it with a new layer of asphalt.
