The City of Delano operates a municipal sanitary sewer treatment system. The system is design to collect wastewater from properties within the City and provide treatment at the City's Wastewater Treatment Facility. Sanitary sewer users are charged a monthly fee that provides for the operation, maintenance, and replacement of the system. In addition, connection fees are charged to new properties connecting into the system to recover capital costs associated with the capacity increases needed for the additional users.
The City's Wastewater Treatment Facility is located at 1002 River Street North. The Facility employs a state-of-the-art treatment system, utilizing Sequencing Batch Reactors, to treat the wastewater received. This facility opened in July 2005, and treats an average of 400,000 gallons of wastewater per day. For more information on the facility or to schedule a tour, contact Chuck Keyes, Facility Operator, at (763) 972-0583.
