Floodplain Ordinance
The purpose of the Floodplain Ordinance is to promote public health and the general welfare of the public. This ordinance applies to all lands within the jurisdiction of Delano shown on the official zoning map.
New Floodplain Ordinance Announcement: Please note that The City of Delano received notice from the MNDNR that the new FEMA floodplain maps for Wright County will be effective on June 20, 2024. An updated floodplain ordinance must be in place to preserve access to the FEMA flood insurance program. It also extends both the 100- and 500-year floodplain maps, which may potentially impact homes not previously in the floodplains. Impacted homes will receive notice. The linked documents below repeals the old floodplain ordinance and includes the updated floodplain ordinance language from the Minnesota Model Floodplain Ordinance. The new floodplain ordinance below was approved and adopted by City Council on June 18, 2024.
