Today is Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day! During the City Council meeting on Tuesday (Feb. 20), Mayor Holly Schrupp issued a proclamation designating February 22 as Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day in Delano. Pete Johnson, a survivor of Heart Valve Disease, was acknowledged by the mayor and shared his story. Pete and his wife, Amy, established Rock from the Heart, a foundation dedicated to educating and supporting individuals with aortic conditions, specifically through music.
