Development Applications

The development permit applications and deposit agreement should be submitted directly to the City of Delano by the applicant's submission date.

In addition to the two documents listed above, detailed written materials (maps, plans, and specifications) should be submitted in the following format:

  1. One large-scale copy (One inch equals 100 feet or less)
  2. Electronic copy (Emailed to Paula Bauman)

Once received, applications will be reviewed by City Staff. Once deemed complete, the request will be heard first by the Delano Planning Commission. The Commission will then make a recommendation to the City Council of either approval or denial. An approval recommendation may or may not have conditions attached. A denial will be reported in findings of fact. The City Council will have the opportunity to make the final decision on the matter.

In addition to the information contained on this website, the application and all supplementary materials are available for public viewing at Delano City Hall. Anyone wishing to provide public comment on the application may do so at the Planning Commission meeting or by submitting a signed, written comment to City Hall, no later than Noon on the Wednesday prior to the meeting. Written comments can be directed to the attention of the "Delano Planning Commission and City Council". When required, public notices of the hearing will also be posted in the Delano Herald and sent by mail to property owners within 350 feet of the subject project.
