The Delano Heritage Center is undergoing an exciting transformation! In late 2024, operations began to install a new elevator shaft, which will connect the first and second floors. The Delano Heritage Center will remain closed as the elevator is installed and other updates are made to the building.
This upgrade will significantly improve accessibility, creating new opportunities for visitors and expanding the Center’s potential. Built in 1888, the building has served many purposes throughout our city's history—at various points housing the Fire Station, Police Station, DMV, City Hall, and Library—and is now the Heritage Center.
This project was completed in Spring 2025.
This elevator project is partially funded by the State of Minnesota through the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, administered by the Minnesota Historical Society.
