Sculpture/Riverway Park Project 2025
The Sculpture/Riverway Park Project focuses on trail and parking lot improvements. The approved enhancements include the construction of additional pathways, a covered seating area, and an expanded parking lot. These improvements aim to better serve the pickleball and sculpture walk area, providing a more enjoyable and accessible experience for visitors. Riverway Park is located along Highway 12.
May 2025: At the recommendation of the Park & Recreation Commission, City Council authorized staff to solicit quotes for the Sculpture/Riverway Park improvements
August 2025: City staff reviewed quotes and awarded Sunram Construction Inc., with minor adjustments to their proposal to reduce overall cost
September 2025: Work begins in park
Oct. 17, 2025: The contractor has completed their portion of the project
Oct. 20, 2025: Public Works staff will begin prepping the remaining paths for aggregate placement (estimate approximately 2 weeks to complete)
End of October/Early November 2025: Work is expected to be complete - please note that timelines may change due to weather
Funding for the Riverway Park improvements will come from the Park Dedication Fund and the General Fund. Sunram (the contractor) will be doing the parking lot expansion, the concrete section under the shade structure, the retaining wall, and the bulk of the site grading. Their contract value is roughly $130K. The City is self performing the shade structure install and roughly 60% of the aggregate trail work, estimated cost of $15K in materials.
