Project Overview
A 75-foot long section of the riverbank slope near Riverway Park has sloughed into the river channel due to erosion and scour. The portion of the bank is within the inslope of the riverbank and below the top of the levee. City staff met with DNR representatives and discussed methods to address the issue and prevent further erosion and damage. The proposed repair involves removing specific trees near the failure, placement of Class III rip rap below the normal water level, and placement of reinforced vegetated rip rap above the normal water level.
Work is expected to begin October 2025.
