Background
The City has a construction contract with Duininck (contractor) for the planned pavement work on 90th Street SE and County Line Road. Guardrail Installation
The City of Delano requested and received quotes for the installation of guardrails along the western end of 90th Street as it approaches County Road 17. Work is planned to begin in mid-December and is expected to take approximately four days. To complete this project safely, the western end of 90th Street will be closed during daytime work hours. The road will reopen to traffic at the end of each work day. The image below shows the limits of the planned closure.
While industry standards do not require guardrails on streets posted below 40 miles per hour, the City elected to pursue installation at this location. An update will be provided once the contractor confirms the start date.
