Annexation

The City of Delano has the ability to grow through the process of annexation of land from adjacent jurisdictions.  The City has primarily grown its boundaries through the annexation by ordinance process. 

The Process of Annexation

This process is initiated by property owners who petition to have their property annexed by the City, which starts a process that provides notice to adjacent property owners and a public hearing prior to any formal action to annex the property.
