2040 Comprehensive Plan

During 2023-2024, members of the City Council, Planning Commission, and staff dedicated their time to review and update the existing comprehensive plan. As part of the process, the City examined its current development patterns, quality of development, and the impact that growth has had on the City’s ability to provide quality services and utilities. Through this comprehensive plan update, the City also examined its goals, policies, and needs to guide development within the City through the year 2040. 

The plan was first proposed at a joint Planning Commission/City Council meeting on Jan. 8, 2024. Community input was solicited from Jan. 8 through March 2024. A public hearing was held on March 11 at Delano City Hall to consider the draft Delano 2040 Comprehensive Plan. Revisions were made to the plan, and the final 2040 Comprehensive Plan was approved at the March 19th City Council Meeting.
